Ukraine Prepares for an “Industrial Visa-Free Regime” with the European Union
Ukraine is preparing to conclude an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) with the European Union, commonly referred to as the “industrial visa-free regime.” To enable this step, the Verkhovna Rada is expected to adopt two EU-integration bills that are already prepared for consideration in the plenary session.
The Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development has recommended that Parliament adopt draft laws No. 12221 and No. 12426 as a whole. These initiatives aim to harmonise Ukrainian legislation in the areas of technical regulation, accreditation, and market surveillance with the requirements of the European Union.
According to the Committee, adoption of these laws is intended to improve the safety of industrial products, strengthen trust in national conformity assessment bodies, and create conditions for the free circulation of Ukrainian goods on the EU single market. The initiatives are also seen as an important step toward Ukraine’s further integration into the EU internal market.
