On 3–4 July 2026, Vienna hosted the anniversary Congress of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE Party), marking the Alliance’s 50th anniversary. The event brought together representatives of political parties, parliaments, governments, and the expert community from across Europe to discuss key issues related to democracy, European security, support for Ukraine, digital transformation, competitiveness, and the future of the European Union.
Ihor Novosad, Managing Partner of GR Consulting UA, participated in the Congress. During the event, he held working meetings with ALDE President Svenja Hahn, Vice-President Jouni Ovaska, as well as with delegates representing political parties from European countries, Ukraine, Armenia, and Georgia.
Separate discussions focused on the contemporary challenges facing democratic societies and included meetings with Garry Kasparov and Belarusian political figure Valery Tsepkalo.
The Congress also provided an opportunity to meet with representatives of Ukrainian political parties, including the delegation of the Servant of the People party led by Oleksandr Korniienko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the European Party of Ukraine.
A special highlight of the Congress opening ceremony was a performance by Ukrainian opera singers Oleksandr Tyshchenko and Tetiana Mius, organised on the Ukrainian initiative. Their programme featured classical works performed in Italian, Ukrainian, and German. The performance was warmly received by the Congress participants and served as another reminder of Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage and its integral place within the European community.
Participation in the ALDE Congress provided an opportunity for professional exchange, deeper dialogue with European partners, and direct discussions on current European policy issues with representatives of political and expert communities from across the continent.
